Analog V’s Digital

I was reading Yasmin’s Blog about what is an ICT and had a laugh at her light bulb moment of never realising that analogue devices are called analog because it is an analogy (or representation) of something! I too did not realise this was the case!

So Analog is simply a representation of something whereas…

Digital: Represents information in numbers; processes or manipulates digital information; gathers or inputs information and also outputs information.

I decided to write down a list of digital technologies that I use regularly and was shocked at how big it actually is, check it out! It got me thinking, what would happen or how would I react if every single one of these ICT’s disappeared!? They are just a part of my normal life. They make many things in my life much less complicated. I use them for personal use as well as university studies and work!
